It’s been weeks since companies around the globe embraced remote working. Not sure what your thoughts are but I used to like working from home one or two days per week. It helped me focus. Now, after 2 weeks of isolation, I feel like my personal and work life are blended together more than ever and days are passing by in a strange way – difficult to describe.
If, like me, you’re living in a big city like London and in a relatively small apartment, where it’s hard to create a dedicated “office” area and you are sharing your kitchen table with your partner, you might get this unusual feeling I’m talking about. Below a picture of our setup.
You’re receiving this email because you subscribed to our newsletter (humaans.io/blog). After sharing a few issues with fresh content from the blog, product updates and the latest People Talks interviews, we realised that there was something missing in our emails. They were just a bit cold and not inspiring enough, so we decided to try a different approach to make them more personal. We’d love for you to really enjoy and benefit from everything we do at Humaans, and we’re always keen to experiment to provide the best experience.
Going back to remote and the related challenges, I thought I’d share a few pieces from the Humaans blog that you might find helpful:
Remote vs Distributed workforce: this is an overview we put together last year, where we covered the key aspects of both models; it’s now super relevant so worth a look if you haven’t checked this before.
Interview with Andrew Gobran at Doist: this was our very first interview for the People Talks series. Andrew is running People Operations at Doist, a fully remote company with employees distributed across 29 countries that embraced this model from inception. The interview is full of thoughtful and useful insights.
Over the coming weeks, our goal is to be more present and share content (not necessarily only produced by the team at Humaans) that can help make your workplace better – no matter the nature of the challenges you’re facing.
On that note, we’re running a survey to understand what the most pressing areas for businesses right now are, given the Covid-19 emergency. At Humaans, we’d love to help with our technology in any way we can. It would be of massive value if you could spare a moment to answer a few questions and share with your network. The results of the survey will also be shared (anonymously) to benefit the community.
Humaans Product Update
This week we announced our latest product release in Humaans – Insights.
If you’re working at a startup (or worked in the past), you will be familiar with the fact that not all companies have the time or the right resources to process large data sets using complex business intelligence tools. And sometimes you only need to address a few people related questions at speed to inform business decisions.
Insights is set out to provide you with the most comprehensive view of key data points (current and historical) without any friction and help spot company trends at a glance.
Insights is available from today for all Humaans customers. Not a customer but curious to give it a try? Visit humaans.io and create an account for free.
You can learn more about Insights here.
I hope you enjoyed reading, and if you have thoughts or feedback you can reach me on Twitter.
I will leave you with a quote from Vladimir Lenin that resonated with me this week:
There are decades where nothing happens, and there are weeks where decades happen.
Have a restful Sunday and stay healthy!
